AnotherCLONE fighteris hit, burstsinto flames,and spinsoff into space.A VULTURE DROIDFIGHTER-rai-sesitsheadto locate. its targetand firesmissiles at them.

ANAKIN andOBI-WAN breakright andleft, andthe missilesfollow them.ANAKIN does abarrel roll spin,causingthe missiles followinghim to collideand EXPLODE.Two missilescontinueto chase OBI-WAN.He bankssharplyto the right,then to theleft, causingone of themissiles to overshoot.

As a dozenmore droids jointhe group,the JEDI ignitetheir lightsabersand stand back-to-back.

ANAKIN andOBI-WAN use theirlightsabersand cuta large circle in the floor.

The TWO JEDIcut theirway down severalfloors intoa large generator room.Huge EXPLOSIONSoutsidethe shiphave caused several largepipes overheadto break,and fluidis spewing everywhere.The Jedi getup and turnoff their lightsabers. ANAKIN dipshis hand intothe fluidand sniffs it.

They run,EXPLOSIONS rattlethe ship,and pipescontinue to burst aroundthem, spillingmore fuelinto thehallway. Atthe far end,SIX SUPER BATTLE DROIDSdropinto thefuel. The SOUNDS OF SHIELDDOORS CLOSING AND LOCKING ECHO throughoutthehallway.

( ,_,, They pass severallargepower generators,which aretopped with SPARKING excesspower dischargers.

The last of theDOORS CAN BE HEARDCLOSING inthedistance.

They move alonga wall.ANAKIN climbsup the sideto a small vent. The fuelgets closerto the SPARKING dischargers.

They move towarda secondvent. OBI-WAN isswimmingin the fuel ( as it reachesto withina couple yardsof the ceiling.ANAKIN '· feels along theceilingand finds anothersmallervent. He closes his eyesand triesto sense anopening, thenhe moves on.

OBI-WAN is forcedinto hand-to-handcombatwith oneof the SUPER BATTLE DROIDS.It pulls theJedi underthe fuel.Just beforehe is about todrown, OBI-WAN disablestheSUPER BATTLE DROID by pushing him intoan exhaustpipe.

The fuel isup to the Jedi'schins.ANAKIN findsa very, very small metal·gr.ate,.-t;hen-poundsenituntilthetinygratebree,;aw<k~s------- loose.

ANAKIN grabsthe sideof the tinyhole andgives it a bigyank, rippinga large panelloose revealinga "man-sized"work shaft. They scramblethroughit as theDROIDS swim closer.

The TWO JEDIpull themselvesthroughthe narrowvent shaftuntil they reacha smallhatch in theside of thetube.

As theSUPER BATTLE DROIDSreachthe openingin the ceilingand the fuelgets to withina few feetof the powergenerator sparks,the JEDI workthe keyboardon the pressurelock,opening the latch.

The TWO JEDIclimb intoa smallpassageway andslam thehatch shut. Theymake theirway throughthe ever-shrinkingshaftuntil they reachthe end.

Thetwo JEDI waitfor an elevatorto arrive.They turnaround andsee they areface to facewith THREE DESTROYER DROIDS.The DROIDSstart blastingaway.Anakin deflectsthe bolts.OBI-WAN franticallypushesthe elevatorbutton severalmoretimes.

Finallythe dooropens, andthey rush insideunder ahail of laserbolts. Theelevator doorslides shut.The JEDIturn to see BATTLEDROIDS standingbehindthem.

TheJEDI activatetheir lightsabers anddestroy allthe BATTLE DROIDS.

Before ANAKIN canarc intoa descentdown the shaft,the elevator racesup throughthe shaft,cutting theDROIDS in two. ANAKIN landson the elevatorand quicklydrops backthrough the hole in the ceiling.OBI-WAN isstartledand igniteshis lightsaber.

ARTOO activateshis oilhose and spraysthe SUPER BATTLE DROIDS. The SUPER BATTLE DROIDSslipon theoil.

ARTOO igniteshis armrockets andshoots outof their grip, sprayingthem both withoil and settingthemon fire. The SUPER BATTLE DROIDSslip andslide untilthey fall,smoldering.ARTOO rolls away.

The elevatordoor opensand the TWO JEDIcarefullymake their way intothe main roomof the General'sQuarters.

At the farend sits SUPREME CHANCELLOR PALPATINE.ANAKIN and OBI-WAN movetoward theCHANCELLOR.

As they getcloser toPALPATINE, theysee a verydistressedlook on the Chancellor'sface.

PALPATINEmakes a smallgesture withhis hand.OBI-WAN and ANAKIN turnaround. Theelevator DOORS CAN BE HEARD OPENING AND CLOSING asCOUNT DOOKU stridesintothe room.He is above the Jedi, standingon a balcony,with twoSUPER BATTLE DROIDS.The Jedi turnto see him.He looks downon the Jedi.

ANAKIN and COUNT DOOKUmoveup the stairs.As theyreach the upper landingof the General'sQuarters,ANAKIN leapsover COUNT DOOKU. OBI-WAN reachesthetop of thestairs, destroyingTWO SUPER BATTLE DROIDS.COUNT DOOKUholdsOBI-WAN inthe air using the Force ashe turns andkicks ANAKIN outof frame.OBI-WAN is choking.

DOOKU sendsOBI-WAN flying.The Jeditumbles tothe lower level unconscious.COUNT DOOKU spinsaroundagain and,using the Force, causesa sectionof the balconyto drop ontoOBI-WAN.

ANAKIN spinsand kicksCOUNT DOOKU, sendinghimover the balcony.ANAKIN Jumps, followinghimdown to themain floor. COUNT DOOKU andANAKIN continuethefight.

Anakin regainshis composureand attacksCOUNT DOOKU astheDark Lord continueshis spinto meet himhead on. Theirfighting becomes evenmore intense.

PALPATINEstands up,rubbing hiswrists.

The ship beginsto list toone side.ANAKIN rushesover to OBI- WAN, lifts thecontrol consolefromon top of him,and pullshim free. He kneelsdown andchecks outhis unconsciousfriend. PALPATINE headsfor theelevators.

ANAKIN picksup OBI-WAN,slings himover his shoulder,andheads for the elevators.

As the shiprolls, spacecraftand equipmentCRASH fromone side of the ship tothe other.

Several objectsbreak throughthe metalblast doors,causing objects tobe sucked intospace. ARTOO startsto slidetoward one of the smallholes.

As the elevatorshaft rotates,it hasbecome a longhallway. ANAKIN clingsto the doorframewithOBI-WAN on hisshoulder, as theChancellorstrugglesto join him.

ARTOO continuesto skidand slide towardopen space.He swerves around boxesand wreckedfighters. Oneof the BATTLE DROIDS stumbles andis consumedby the electronicshieldin a zap.

ARTOO BEEPSa reply ashe dodges thelaser·blastsof the BATTLE DROIDS. Onebolt hits verynear him,and he SCREAMS interror.

ARTOO is aboutto be overtakenby astarfighter slidingbehind him. He fallsinto a heapof brokenbattle droidparts and the fighter bouncesover him.

The TRADE FEDERATION CRUISERheadsstraightdowntoward the planet.

ANAKIN jumpsinto thehorizontal elevatorshaftwith OBI-WAN still onhis shoulder.

PALPATINEclimbs intothe elevatorshaft also.They start running.The ship beginsto roll again,and theJedi and the Chancellorare forcedto jump fromone side ofthe elevatorto the other.

ANAKIN stillcarrying OBI-WAN onhisback, and PALPATINErun down the elevatorshaftas it startsto move upright.ANAKIN cuts a controlbox on oneof the doors,but beforethe doorscan open, the shipmoves toan angle, causingANAKIN andPALPATINE to start slidingdown theshaft. ANAKIN grabssomewires in the control boxwith one hand.PALPATINEgrabs onto theJedi's leg. As the shiprights itself,they areleft hangingin the bottomlesselevator shaft.

ANAKIN, OBI-WAN,and PALPATINEhangprecariouslyon the sideof the bottomlesselevatorshaft. OBI-WAN regainsconsciousnessand tries to lookaround.

YODA leaps awayfrom thepods. He usesthe Force tohold one pod suspendedinthe air. Thepod spins andYODA throwsit back at PALPATINE,wholeaps awayat the lastmoment.

YODA leaps afterhim, butPALPATINE quicklyturnsand aims the full force ofhis energybolts at thetiny green Jedi,catching him in mid-airand throwinghim backhard againstthe Podium. OBI-WAN andANAKIN worktheir wayacross the smallpipe, fightingferociouslyas they go.OBI-WAN slips,throws his lightsaberup in theair, grabson to the pipe,swings around, grabs onto an upperpipe, retrieveshis lightsaber,and lands back onthe originalpipe. PALPATINEwalks into theArena hallway.COMMANDERTHIRE descends down to thefloor of theArena, wherean intensesearch is taking place.SEVERAL CURIOUSSENATORS rubberneckinscattered pods.

OBI-WAN andANAKIN battleon the topof the multi-spired collectionpanels, jumpingfrom oneto the other.At the endof the collectioncluster,a huge sprayof lava coversthe · attachmentsthat holdup the collectors.The framebeginsto melt. It'sraining lava.Both ANAKIN andOBI-WAN runfor cover under thecollectioncluster. Theycontinue tofight in thelava rain, dartingfrom coverto attack,then quicklyretreatingto cover.

Supportfor the entirestructurebegins to fallaway, andthe collectioncluster fallsinto thelava river.The Jedi continue their fight,climbingto the highestpoint onthe tower asthe rest beginsto meltaway as it ridesthe swiftcurrent downthe river.

It bendstoward thelava as theyget out towardthe end.The fightinggets fierce.OBI-WAN getsto the endand is trapped. The towerslowly startsto sinkunder the lava.

OBI-WAN doesa double back-flipand landssquarelyon the floating platform.He immediatelyleansto one sideand moves away from thetower.

ANAKIN realizeshe is doomedas theentire towerheads for the falls. In thedistancehe sees someCONSTRUCTION DROIDS.He swings backto the tower,climbs upand makes arunning leapand miraculouslylands onA WORKER DROID.The DROID isconfused and chatters tohis CO-WORKER. Thegiantcollector goesover the lava flowand disappearsin the mistof sparksbelow.

OBI-WAN headsfor thebank of the lavariver, butAnakin's DROID is faster.He catchesup with his oldMaster.

OBI-WAN andANAKIN continuethe swordfight.Theybattle away, balancingon the tinyplatform andpuzzled DROID.ANAKIN, standingon the Droid,approaches OBI-WAN onthework platform.
