A glacial ice cover stretches for miles.The last frontier * on earth is a harsh land of snow and ice.WE MOVE CLOSER: *

Creeping slowly over a graveyard of skeletal remains.Bones * and shards of bones protrude.from thesnow like small flags. * And beyond those bones lies blood, darkly rich in color, * soaking -deep into the once pristine. snow.This is fresh * blood. *

A BARN or a structure resembling abarn lives on the edge of * the sea covered in snow and surrounded by enormous tabular * icebergs. This structure has been bruisedby the hands of * time, the weight of endless falling snow that gatherso~ its * roof and the wicked wind of this, the coldest place on earth. * SMOKE pours from a chimney. *

Subtitle: Bouyetoya whaling station * Antarctica - 1904 *

The "barn" building is surrounded by two smaller buildings on * a narrow street in this tiny shack ofa town.JIMMY, all of * nineteen, frantically runs down thestreet. He's running as * if something is chasing him but we don't see anythingexcept * the terro·ron his face. He's freezing to death,dressed in * only at-shirt and jeans. His ~ands and arms resemblefrozen * sausages. They are wickedly frostbitten. The veins on his * arms look like long, thin rivers. His face isa deep rich * frosted blue. He hears something. Stops. He looks in horror * as he sees BLOODY HANDPRINTS, frozen into the snow. *

Jimmy's eyes follow the trail of bloody handprints toa small * building. On the window are MORE BLOODY HANDPRINTS.A pane of * glass is shattered. Jimmy runs into the main building. *

ACRID SMOKE pours from the BLUBBER COOKERY.BOILERS and * MACHINERY run loudly. A HUMPBACK WHALE sits on the flensing * plan, gutted. MEAT and BONE are being GROUND DOWN ina COPPER * CAULDRON. *

Jimmy runs over the bloodstained floor, frantically looking * over his shoulder. He falls over several barrels of whale * oil. He picks himself up, looks over his shoulder and starts * running again. *

Hanging from hooks on the wall are bloody HARPOONS,LANCES * and LOUCHETS. Jimmy crashes into them. He falls. He's on the * ground now. Exhausted. Freezing. And now badly cut up. *

And then he hears it. The sound of his pursuer, a sound like * a thousand mice being fed into a fire. But there's nothing to * see because nothing is there. But that horrible soundgrows * louder as itdraws closer to him. *

Jimmy runs into the mess hall. Forty bowls and drinking jugs * sit on the long empty tables prepared for a crew of forty men * that are long gone. *

A slow but constant drip falls from the ceiling onto the * center table. It looks like water but then Jimmy sees that * it'sBLOOD. Bloody human handprints are on the ceiling thirty * feet high.How the hell did they get there? Then... *

FOOTSTEPS •TOO LOUD and too big to be human. It' s as ifa * giant had boulders for feet and was stalking through the * whaling station -- methodically taking each step, its * movements louder than even the machines. *

The footsteps stop. They're very close. Jimmy's eyesdo a * scan of the entire room but nothing is there. Slowly Jimmy * turns around to find himself in the AWESOME SHADOW OFAN * ALIEN. He looks up in horror. He falls over a table bench. * He's on the ground. He's on his back. He's helpless. The * SHADOW OFTHE ALIEN spreads over Jimmy's terrified face. *

ANALIEN: Seen only in the snag of a few frames, nearly * subliminalimagery. The Alien lowers down, inches from * Jimmy's face. The TWIN MOUTHS open and prepare to strike. *

SUDDENLYAN OPTICAL BLUR and the Alien is hit with tremendous * force.He's knocked backward. And now its the Alien that * falls to the ground, itself badly wounded.Blood drips from * the Alien onto the floorand melts right through it. *

REFLECTED ON JIMMY'S EYES: we only GLIMPSE what he sees a * hunter stepping from the shadows. It• shumanoid in shape, but * clearly not of this earth. A PREDATOR, glimpsed in a * millisecond. The footsteps Jimmy heard were his. *

PREDATOR VISION: Jimmy is outlined in heat signature. But * the Predator is not interested in him.He wants the Alien. * JIMMY is frozen with fear. *

jIMMY * Please • Don ' t.I 'm ••• sorry .

TWIN BLADES are firedfrom the Predator's wrist. Their razor- * sharp edges catching the early-morning light.

Then suddenly, they come scything down. Straight toward the Alien, but also STRAIGHT TOWARD CAMERA.

4. LEGEND: PRESENTDAY 4.

Dark void. For a moment, everything is totally black. Then light begins to creep onto the SCREEN. It slowly illuminates what seem to be giant black spider legs. They are almost metallic in appearance. For a moment, any fan would be forgiven in thinking that this was an ALIEN QUEEN. *

But as the light grows, we see that the legs belong to an orbiting SATELLITE. We are in space. 50 miles above an unidentified planet. As the Sun rises above the planet, it illuminates the globe, and we begin to see the familiar green and blue of -- EARTH.

Suddenly THE CAMERA races forward - INTO the satellite. We streak through acomplex web of circuitry, coming to rest at last by alarge glass LENS. The satellite is one giant earneraaimed towards the Earth. And i1111staking photographs.

We see the imagery, but very distorted. Something on the surface of the Earth farbelow -- A PATTERN OF INTERLOCKING SQUARE SHAPES.

s. EXT. NEW MEXICO- PRESENT DAY. 5.

The vast d_esert plains are brokenby a forest of radio dishes pointed toward the heavens.

SUBTITLE: NEW MEXICO HIGHDESERT

WEYLAND INDUSTRIES- T.D.R.S. RECEIVING STATION *

G. INT. T.D.R.S.RECEIVING ·STATION- DAY 6.

Inside, the WHIR of AIR CONDITIONING. The distinctive logo of WEYLAND INDUSTRIES is everywhere. A handful of bored TECHNICIANS and SCIENTISTS monitor the data from dozens of satellites orbiting the Earth. We get the feeling nothing ever happens here. ATECHNICIAN watching an old movie ("FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLFMAN"}on a portable TV finally notices a flashing light on the console behind him.

His SUPERVISOR walks over. Not expecting much.

The supervisor pulls a hard copy from the printer. It shows the pattern ofINTERLOCKING SQUARE SHAPES.

CLOSE ON an ALASKAN SNOW HAWK'SNEST. The Snow Hawk is on the verge of extinction. The mother isfeeding two recent HATCHLINGS. The image suddenlyFREEZES and we realize that someone is taking photographs.The silence of nature is shattered by modern communication whena CELL PHONE RINGS.

Meet ALEXIA KLINE. Explorer,adventurer, environmental technician, field guide and right now- angry photographer.

Lex checks the Snow Hawk nest. The mother seems spooked,but hasn't flown off. Lex starts reloading her camera with film.

GABE

LEX

(loading new roll of film)

Gabe. I know how badwe need the money. I really do. But •.• *

Lex's film drops out of her hand. She quickly reaches for it; it bounces off her hand and falls out of the tent flap.

WIDE: The role of film falls forever aswe REVEAL that Lex's * tent is five thousand feet in the air suspended by pegsand ropes. She's camped halfway up the mountain acrossfrom the Snow Hawk nest which is perched on the opposite cliff.

A JET RANGER HELICOPTER rises right in front of her. It bears * the insignia of WEYLAND INDUSTRIES. Lex snaps hard right to see the Snow Hawk on the opposite cliff taking off into the air. Her shot is ruined.

Thirty miles northeast of Mexico City. 107 degrees in the * shade.A GROUP OF WORKERS runs through an archaeological * site. Behind them, in the near distance, looms the timeless * beauty of theTEOTIHUACAN PYRAMIDS. *

WORKERS * He's found it! He's found it! *

WORKERS begin running toward-- *

SEBASTIANWELLS, the boy who turned his childhood love of * exploring the woods behind his house intoa life'long * obsession with archaeology·,wipessweat from his brow as he * studies acomputer printout that shows something buried just * beneath the surface.THOMAS, Sebastian's right hand, is * quietly excited. *

ARCHEOLOGISTS and WORKERSspeaking overlapping Spanish, * English and French gather around the excavation site,forming * a LARGE CROWD. Sebastian takes note of the crowd's * excitement, it's almost as great as hisown. *

The tension is unbearable as Sebastian slowly begins to reach into the darkness of the trench, hisarm slowly disappearing into the void.Then going further.

Slowly, Sebastian begins to lift somethingfrom the hole. We see the reaction on Sebastian's face,but not the artifact.

THOMAS * (breathless) · Professor?

Sebastian turns slowly toshow the crowd what he has uncovered. It's a faded red and blue metal object.A BENT CAP FROM A PEPSI BOTTLE.The disappointment in the crowd is palpable. ?ebastian is crushed. *

Sebastian looks over to seeJUANITA RAMIREZ, an official with * the Department of Interior. *

SEBASTIAN * Give me one more month, Juanita. *

JUANITA RAMIREZ * Can't do it, Sebastian. Department * of Interior needed results six * months ago. We're bringing in * another team. *

Sebastian stalks to his camp to findMAXWELL, an elegant man * of Afro-Caribbean descent, standingby his tent.

Staring out the window one seat over is Chemical Engineer

GRAHAM MILLER (glasses, lifelong, card-carrying science

geek). He stands up and attempts to take a picture of

himself. First attempt he blinds himself. Second attempt

the plane bumps and he's knocked into Lex. She wakes up.

She nods, starts to go back to sleep.

MILLER (CONT'D)

But seeing ashow you are awake,

would you mind?

He hands her his digital camera. Miller makes a stupid face. * Lex snaps the picture.

Miller shows Lex a picture of his sons on his digital camera. *

MILLER * (dry and precise) * It's in the upper atmosphere. * Streams of protons and electrons * from the sun being deflectedby the * Earth's magnetic field. *

A dozen shivering SCIENTISTS are gathered around,waiting for * something. Sebastian and Miller are part of the audience,as * are Albrect, Jamison and Vincenzo.The moon hangs low in the * sky. Its dull blue glow provideswhat little illumination * there is. In the background, theHaaglunds are being * unloaded as Quinn and the rest of his team continue to unload * the rest of their equipment. *

Sebastian stamps his feet to keep warm. *

SEBASTIAN * What time is i_tanyway? *

Miller looks at his watch. *

MILLER * ~idday. This far south they have * six months of darkness. The sun * never rises. Perpetual night. *

Lex steps forward to address the scientists. Miller and * Sebastian realize Lex hasmade her decision to stay. *

She smiles. Sebastian islooking outside up at the moon. *

This is the PREDATOR SPACECRAFT. *

Inside, the spacecraft islike nothing you"ve ever seen. * The architecture isdark and medieval. The corridors * labyrinthine. If you didn't know this was a spaceship, it * could be the interior ofa samurai's fortress. *

The CAMERAcruises through the armory. Dozens of weapons * line the walls. Spears, blades, cutting weapons, metal * armor. Alien in their design, but strangely low tech. Th~re * is nothing here that would be out of place ina medieval * castle. The CAMERA MOVES on, continuing its quest through * the spacecraft. So far there isno sign of life. *

CLOSE ON A COMPUTER SCREEN *

The design is distinctly techno-medieval..Suddenly the * screen flickers into life. Iconsand language are all * Predator, but the imagery it shows is recognizable- i.t·sthe * Piper Maru. The screen shows the ship and also its distance * to the "Pyramid" beneath the ice. *

All around the spacecraft, · lightsand machinery begin tocome * to life. The proximity of the Haaglunds to the"Pyramid" has * clearly triggered something on board the Predator Spacecraft. *

An empty room with a slick black reflective floor that isso * shiny it reflects the domed ceiling housed above it. Strange * lettering is projected and moving across the floor. *

A COMPLEX MYRIAD OF MACHINERY powers this "control room." * POWERFUL PIPES and TUBES are linked to a CENTRAL MACHINE that * sits in the center of this dark, forbidding and industrial * place. *

The floor RifgLES,revealing itself to be a pool of black * liquid and not the shiny floorwe first imagined. The ripple * is so subtle at firsttha.twe forgive ourselves for this rush * to judgement. *

It RIPPLES again.And now slowly something is emerging from * this black pool. A BLACK STATUE of some kind, rising from * its sleep, attached to the central machine by aLONG TUBE. * Then ANOTHER emerges •And bNOTHER. And still ANOTHER. * Until there are... *

THREE OF THESE TERRIFYINGBLACK STATUES. Their bodies are * bathed in a thick jelly-like goo. And the bizarre LETTERING * is SUPERIMPOSED over their dark figures. *

A LOUD DEAFENING HISS pierces theroom as one by one the * THREE STATUES' tube-like lifelines are dropped,releasing * them from their sleep andfrom their attachment to the * central machine. *

The CAMERA CLOSES IN on one of the figures. We see the * creature's face in SILHOUETTE. It is humanoid, but nothum~n. * It is a PREDATOR. Suddenly, itsEYES explode open! *

The lead HAAGLUND tops a snow riseand halts. One by one the * others follow suit. Weyland disembarks,followed by the * others.· Around them, the snowis falling, slow and steady. *

Lex fires a parachute flare into the air. It explodes in the * air, it brightly illuminates the Whaling Station in a cool * green hue. *

A dozen wooden buildings we recognize from the1904 massacre * we witnessed earlier. some of them nomore than shacks. All * of them encrusted with ice andhalf· buried in thesnow. The team walk down "Main Street," illuminating the bizarre ghost town with their flashlights. It's creepy as hell. *

A giant black ca~ldron dominates the harbor. Fifteen feet high, thirty feet across. One of its four feet has been knocked away and it tilts over at a crazy angle. Only the fact that it is frozen solid stops it from tumbling into the harbor below.

SEBASTIAN· Witch's cauldron?

The harbor leading to the whaling station is totally frozen over. Sebastian stares down at the thick ice.

Miller enters the frozen mess hall -- the same frozen mess * hall that Jimmy tried to flee from a hundred years ago. It's * an eerie sight. Like some kind of frozen doll house. The tables are covered with sheet ice. Cups, plates, spoons and forksare frozen to the spot they were left since 1904. * Miller tries to pick up one of the cups but the handle breaks * off into his hand. ·

He takes out a camera, sets the timer. He rushes over to get in place but .•.• he's too slow and .FLASH!

The camera takes a picture of his back. The bold flash of light momentarily illuminates the mess hall. And this blast of light has disturbed something. Miller is not alone here. * And as he~ealizes this there is MOVEMENT. *

The movement STOPS. Miller grows worried. Now he knows he's not alone here.

MILLER (CONT'D)

Hello!

Miller's VOICE ECHOES around the mess hall. There is no reply. Miller turns,ready to go. He tells himself he's wrong. Right now he needs to believe he was wrong.Then the SOUND stirs again. Someone,something? Moving, SCUTTLING across the floor. The sound of anALIEN FACE HUGGER getting closer? Sheepish, Miller recalls the toughestwords he's

ever heard and uses them asbest he can.

The movement STOPS. Miller swallows hard. He's a chemical engineer after all. He's precisely the man to fuck with -- easy prey. Then the NOISE again. Loudernow. Something is definitely moving behind one of the tables. And it's getting closer. Much closer.

SUDDENLY SOMETHING LANDS ON MILLER'SSHOULDER.

Lex takes her hand off Miller's shoulde.r. Miller trieshard to regain his composure, but Lex isn't fooled.

MILLER

There's something in here.

CLOSE ON MILLER.-- His nerves already frayed. The audience tenses, ready for the ALIEN. AND THEN IT APPEARS --from behind atable. A PENGUIN. *.

The Penguin just stares at Miller. Inquisitive and unafraid.

Lex smiles at Miller. He really is out of his depth. *

LEX (CONT'D)

..• theydo bite.

And she starts to walk away.But Miller isn't smiling.

Suddenly there is the NOISE ofSHOUTING from outside.

As Lex and Miller emerge from themess hall, they see Sebastian. He's flushedand excited.

He leads them around the corner of themess hall to reveal A GAPING HOLE in the snow and ice. Perfectly round. Ten feet across. Sebastian and the rest of the team are * gathering around the hole. Off to one side is Quinn's * drilling equipment -- it's not even unpacked.

Quinn shakes his head. He glances at the building closest to the hole. Whatever cut through the ice has also cut clean through the building,vaporizing wooden beams and metal walls.

SEBASTIJ\N * I thought you were the best? *

Quinn bristles. He doesn't like criticism, especiallyfrom a * beaker like Sebastian. *

Lex smiles behind Quinn's back. She admires Sebastian for * having the balls to take Quinn on. *

The familiar pattern of interlocking square shapes. Only this time,a long red line {the tunnel) connects them to the surface of the ice.

And this time yesterday ...

Weyland replaces the photo with one taken24 hours earlier. The squareshapes are unchanged, but there is no sign of the tunnel.

Miller watches the activity. He scratches his head and pulls * his WOOLEN HAT off.

LEX * {casual) Put your hat back on.

Lex smiles sweetly and walksaway. HOLD on Miller as·he REACTS and then hurriedly puts his hat back on.

Lex pulls open the door to the Haaglund. She thought.the cab was empty, but instead Lex findsWeyland sitting there alone. He's struggling, breathing from a portable oxygen bottle. Weyland lowers his mask. His power and wealth are instantly dwarfed by his vulnerability. She lookshim over. They don't say anything for the longest time. Then, gently:

LEX * There's no room for sick men on

They assemble their weapons. Metal pieces sliding together * to form a PredatorSPEAR. *

SW:CSHSWISH! A BLADE cuts through the air. Its sharpness * being tested. BANDAGES are wrapped around Alien hands, like * ancient GLADIATORS preparing forcombat. *

ARMOR is slipped on, covering legs,face and torso. *

IN THE BACKGROUND abank of computer screens. Their design * all in keeping with the techno-medieval feel of Predator * technology. A grainy image playson the screens - it is a * live feed, showing something that is occurring far below on * Earth. It's our team,and they are being closely watched at * the mouth of the tunnel. *

A full two dozen members ofthe team are rappeling down the ice tu~nel. Helmet lights illuminate the scene. Following them are three large sledges being lowered via the winch and pulley. The sledges contain all the team's heavy equipment. Max drops down parallel to Sebastian. Lex is ahead of the * group. She is also placing small lights every twenty feet. *

Suddenly the rope that Weyland is on jerks tight and catches * the side of the tunnel, smashing Weyland into the ice. For a * millisecond Weyland thinks he's saved but then the rope snaps * and he begins to hurtledown the steep shaft. Max and * Sebastian desperately try and grab him but they both just * miss. *

SEBASTIAN

Man down! Lex watch out!

Lex seesWeyland corning,as we see just how fast her reflexes * are. She pins Weyland against the tunnel wall, holding him * in place by driving anICE AXE into the ice, preventing him * from falling furtherdown into the tunnel. *

A moment's hesitationfrom Lex, and Weyland might have died. * Lex reworks Weyland's rope to securehim in place. The two * are face-to-face. *

LEX * ~o~? * (off his nod) * Thank you. *

WEYLAND * (confused) * You saved my life. • .remember? *

She shakes her head -- not for this. *

LEX * For what you said. *

He nods. *

The whaling station is already in the grip of the katabatic winds. Quinn struggles through-the snow, barking orders above the DEAFENING STORM.

The Predator spacecraft cuts through thestorm." The tremendous force of the katabatic winds that would destroy any ordinary plane have no effect on the futuristic spacecraft. Suddenly, THREE shimmering STEEL MISSILES are * FIRED from the belly of the craft.

Three massive EXPLOSIONS of snow and ice as the Predator * missiles impact with the ground.

ON ONE OF THE CRATERS caused by the impact. At its heart * lies one of the missiles, still intact. The missile is cylindrical. Twelve feet long and four feet wide. Like a giant steel coffin; CRANE UP to reveal:

ANOTHER TWO CRATERS stretching off into the distance. And in * each one -- another steel coffin.

iO. EXT. MOUTH OF THE TUNNEL -PERPETUAL TWILIGHT 50.

Everyone is sheltering from the storm. The winching equipment stands abandoned. But a lone digital counter is still flashing away -- measuring the depth to which the team have descended. 1,980 •.. 1,990 •.• 2,000. They have reached the bottom.

In contra-st to the deafening storm above,underground, everything is calm. Silent. Lex lights a cool blue FLARE, illuminating a scene of surreal beauty. They are in an ICE GROTTO, surrounded by giant stalactites and stalagmites made of frozen glacial water. Everything around them shimmers and pulsesin the light of the flare. Even the walls are translucent.

Weyland looks around the grotto. He's breathless from the descent.

...no equipment, no sign of another team. *

Lex and Sebastian stand slightly apart from the others.

We have power!

Max nods.

As one, multiple banks of powerful floodlights kick in. The suddenREFLECTIONS from the glacial ice are blinding.

ANGLE ON LEX shielding her eyes. Slowly she lowers her hand. *

Sebastian turns to see what Lex has seen. He stops dead in * amazement.

We still don't know what they hav~ seen. But whatever it is, * it's breathtaking. One by one, the CAMERA TRACKS PAST the team members. Each one is slack-jawed.

AND SLOWLYTHE CAMERA PANS AROUND TO REVEAL THE PYRAMID, * toweringabove them. The hundreds of stone steps covered in shimmering blueice crystals. The team look like tiny ants * standing before it.

Let's make history.

Back on the surface, the impact crater ~here one of the Predator "missiles" landed. Around it, the katabatic winds are still raging.

CLOSE ON THE "MISSILE" as a hairline crack appears in the * steel. It runs the length of the cylinder. The crack widens and high pressure gas begins to vent. After a moment the missile breaks open completely and a Predator hand emerges.

i3. EXT. WHALING STATION - MOUTHOF TUNNEL-PERPETUAL'l'WILIGHT5 3.

Quinn and his men are all under cover hiding from the storm. * There is no one to hear the Predator BATTLE CRY. The sound is chilling. Primal. And after a moment, it is snatched away in the wind.

54. INT-.PYRAMID- ENTRANCE CHAMBER 54.

The team walks into an entrance to thepyra/Ilidthat is

located half-way up thepyramid. *

A vast chamber. At its heart, a deep pool of freezing vapor - * - not unlike the kind createdby iiquid nitrogen. Hi-tech

chains of incredible tensile strengthrun from the ceiling

and down into the vapor pool,disappearing from sight.

SUDDENLY, THE CHAINSBEGIN TO MOVE. *

They are pulling something up massivefrom the vapor pool.

And slowly, majestically, She rises out of the freezing mist * like some mythic beast -- ANALIEN QUEEN. A GIANT OF HER * SPECIES. *

And around the AlienQueen is built a grotesque MACHINE, in,_ * which she is being held prisoner. A complex web of pipes and * tubes which pierce her body in a hundred different places. * She is literally part of the machine,the ultimate BIO- * MECHANICAL synthesis.This machine which holds the Alien * Queen prisoner, is clearly of Predator design, for it has all * the familiar TECHNO-MEDIEVAL features. It could almost be * some giant gothic torture device from the Inquisition. *

As the chains continue to.liftthe Alien Queen into the air, * we see that these shackles are attached to her every limb. * There are even holes punched through the"crown" above her * head, through which chains run. The lifting chains LOCK into * place, leaving the Alien Queen suspended in mid-air,hanging * above the floor of the chamber likesome great DRAGON caught * in flight. *

It's a stunning, terrifyingimage. *

CLOSE ON THE ALIEN QUEEN unmoving. Her head covered in a * thin sheet of ice. Residue of thefreezing vapor in which * she has been stored. *

SUDDENLY, THE ICE BEGINS TO CRACK! *

Without warning, the twin mouths of the AlienQueen shoot out * and begin to snap at the air. She iswaking up. Her whole * body struggles and strains against the chains. But in vain. * Despite her immense size and incredible strength,she is a * prisoner here. *

CLOSE ON THE EGG SACK below the Alien Queen,held firmly in * place by the Predator machine that surroundsher. Almost as * so.onas the Alien Queen awakes, shebegins to lay eggs. *

Beneath the egg sack is an automated CONVEYORBELT which * takes the eggs away from the Alien Queen. She lays every * fifteen to twenty seconds, feeding the conveyor witha steady * stream of eggs. We now see that the wholechamber is one * giant machine built to service the captive Alien Queen. This * could be an image from BOSCH or BREUGEL. *

When the Alien Queen sees her eggs being taken from her,she * goes BERSERK, straining against her chains to be free. But * it is hopeless. *

The Alien Queen SCREAMS in frustration. *

SEBASTIAN * It's perfectly preserved. I've * never seen anything like it. The * hieroglyphics look to be some kind of hybrid language •.• Containing both Aztec and Egyptian characteristics. *

Lex drops a SMALL STROBE LIGHT behindher; then another. Lex * realizes that Sebastian is watching her. *

LEX * They' 11 burn for six hours. We'11 * be able to find our way back. *

Lex leads the team into the next chamber. Their flashlights * illuminate a large chamber with an impressive vaulted ceiling. The room is dominated byseven stone slabs and on * these slabs are SEVEN MUMMIFIED CADAVERS. *

MILLER * (studyiagcadaver) * It's almost perfectly preserved. *

MAX * What are these? *

SEBASTIAN * Sacrificial slabs. This is where * they offered virgins to the Gods. *

LEX * I want to be the first leader of * the tribe that sacrifices men. *

Sebastian and Miller look at Lex. Ok ••• *

WEYLAND

You see this? *

Weyland illuminates a HUGE pile of HUMAN BONES. Many of the * skeletons are still intact. *

She runs her fingers around a circular, bowl like indentation at the base of the slab.

SEBASTIAN

Some think it's where the heart was * placed after it wastorn from the body.

Miller has discovered something amongst the bones. *

MILLER

Incredible. The entire skull and spinal columnremoved in one piece.

He holds it up for everyone to see.

Weyland's flashlight illuminates a stone grateon the bottom * of the floor with small holesin it. Max strikes a flare and arops it in one of the holes. It falls ... but hitssomething below.

The entire team looksaround and then looks at Lex. *

MYSTERYPOV: Sebastian and Albrect can be seen isolated in a * pool of light. They suddenly look very small and vulnerable as they stand away from the rest of the team.

SEBASTIAN * There.

He's heardA NOISE. Faint, nearly imperceptible, but there. *

LEX * Maybe. Maybe not~ *

Sebastian moves forward. Cautiously edging his way toward * the source of the noise. The team shines their flashlights, * they cut through the gloom like lasers as they illuminate the * chamber. Sebastian casts multiple shadowson the walls * around him. If anything,the lights are making it even * creepier. *

SEBASTIAN * Do you see anything? *

Albrect shakes his head. Sebastian has to crouch as the * ceiling of the back of the chamber slopesdown dramatically. *

LEX * There! *

Like wraiths walking through the storm. The Predators are headed for the mouth of the tunnel.

Quinn continueson his way, struggling through the storm. * He's checking on the equipment. Ensuring that everything is tied down correctly.

The building outside which the Dane is keeping watch. The Mess Hall is the closest structure to the mouth of the tunnel. The walls groan under the strain of the storm raging

outside. TWO MORE MEN are huddled around a camping stove, * boiling water for tea. Both are different nationalities, one SWEDISH,one RUSSIAN. At the back of the shelter, a DUTCHMAN is working ona space heater.

Suddenly, the Dane on sentry duty sees something. In the depths of the storm,a FLICKERING HUMANOID SHAPE, given form by the flurries ofsnow. *

DANE

Quinn?

But the shape keepsmoving, and a moment later is joined by * another SHIMMERING FIGURE. PREDATORS. Headed for the mouth of the tunnel. And that putsthe Dane and the others directly in their path.

DANE (CONT'D)

Quinn?

The Dane brings up his Desert Eagleand takes aim. He has one * of the CLOAKED PREDATORS in his sights.

Quinn stops dead. The room is devastated. Quinn sees three * bodies hanging from the raftersby their ankles. Quinn's * lips move, but there isno sound.

WHAT QUINN SEES: A shimmering figuremoving towards him. Humanoid but not human. Predator. The distinctive TWIN BLADES slide from the Predator's wrist. Quinn sees these blades perfectly, for the razor sharp edges are outlined with the steaming blood of dead men.

FROM NOWHERE - A PREDATOR SPEAR in mid air. Headed right for * him. Quinn slams the door to the mess hall,but the spear slices straight through it,cutting his arm. Quinn has bought himself a few seconds. He uses them to run.

Quinn stumbles through theWHITEOUT. Suddenly he runs STRAIGHT into something. Looks up in SHOCK to see -- A DEAD * BODY. What's left of the Dane. After that, Quinn sees three * more bodies.. All strung up by their ankles,completely * gutted. Swaying in the wind. Where their head used to be, * long ~ed ICICLES hang from the neck stump. With horror, Quinn realizes that·the icicles arefrozen blood. This is * his team. *

Half buried in the snow, Quinn seesDane's gun. He reaches for it, but as he brings up the Desert Eagle--

The Predator grabshim by the throat, lifts him into the air * and throws him down the mouth of the tunnel!Quinn screams! *

Quinn slidesdown the tunnel, gaining speed every second. * His hands grasp desperately at the icy walls, the cabling of * the winch system,anything to help slow his descent. He * pulls out his ice axeand strikes it into the ice to slow * himself down. Shards of ice spray everywhere. *

The cloaked Predator standsabove the entrance to the tunnel. His GHOSTLYOUTLINE flickering and changing with the eddies in the wind. He lets loosethe Predator BATTLE CRY. And behind him, two moreWRAITHS step from the storm. *

The ornate room is lit by flares in every corner. Sebastian carefully examines the Sarcophagus. *

Weyland runs his hand over the Sarcophagus. It is encrusted with ice crystals, glittering in the half light. *

Max stands upon an ornate floor tile whichSINKS ever so * slightly into the ground. A hidden trigger ofsome kind. *

Sebastian looks it over. He nods.And just as he nods the * lid to the chamber begins opening all by itself.Sebastian * shares a guarded look with the group. *

The lid finishes opening and slides to a smooth halt.The * interior of the Sarcophagus is dark. There's no way you can see in without peering dangerously over the edge.

Sebastian cautiously approaches the edge, and peers inside. * The others crowd around the Sarcophagus. The interior of the * Sarcophagus contains -- GUNS. Three futuristic weapons of an * alien design. PREDATOR DESIGN. *

QUINN POV:Two shimmeringWRAITHS appear at the mouth of the * grotto. The Predators have descended the tunnel. They are headed straight toward him. Quinn tries to struggle away from them, but he is frozen stiff. All he can do is watch helpless as the Predators get closerand closer.

PREDATOR VISION: The distinctive heat vision of the * Predators. In their heat vision, the half-frozen Quinn is virtually invisible. They are blindedby the bright lights * illuminating the pyramid. *

Quinn is holding his breath. He can't believe it as the * Predators walk STRAIGHT PAST him. So close that he could reach out and touch.them. After a moment, Quinn cranes his neck to s·eewhere the Predators aregoing. He see·stwo * shapes headed straight for the Pyramid. *

Just when Quinn thought he was safe, he turns around and sees * the third Predator standing rightover him. He was never * fooled, only waiting for Quinn to show himself. *

Their heads * are larger and they're wearing massivehelmet~. They're * fierce, frightening and very powerful looking hunter/beasts. *

SEBASTIAN * Look at this. *

Many of the statues also show the Predators engaged in combat * with another species ..• Aliens.The statues portray the * Predators battling the Aliens as if they wereGEORGE fighting * the DRAGON. *

MILLER * Do you think that's what happened * to Jamison and Albrect? *

Max is staring at another elaborate drawingshowing the * Predators carrying their distinctive plasmaguns -- the ones they're carrying. Lex walks up behind him. *

Sebastian examines the walls of thechamber. Ancient painted MURALS depict humans kneeling insupplication before the Predators.

MAX * We worshipped these things? *

PREDATOR VISION:From an obscure HIGH ANGLE, LOOKING DOWN on * the group of humans. The Predator ZOOMS IN, FOCUSING on the backpacks carriedby Max, Vincenzo and Bass. Within the packs are the three PredatorPlasma Guns. THE PLASMA GUNS * FILL THE FRAME. *

You know that beatbloom, the one Weyland's satellite detected, it makes a lot more sense now.

CLOSE ON A PREDATORSTATUE as the face of the statue softly * distorts. It"s nota statue. It's a real Predator. The

human team have walked straight intoan -ambush!

Stone is bringing up the rear,MP-5 in hand. A NOOSE suddenly

drops around his neck, pulls tight,and drags him into the air. Stone dies silently.

CLOSE ON BASS as a Predator spear impaleshim. The force * hurling him back with astonishi~gf?rce, pinning him to the stone wall.

CLOSE ON A PREDATOR THROWING DISC:Spinning through the air, * its razor-sharp edges catching the light.

Lex pushes Sebastian to one side as the Predator Dischurtles past. It strikes a Predator Statue behind them, cutting through the stone like it were paper. The head of the Statue comes crashing to the ground. Neatly decapitated. The fate that Sebastian narrowly avoided_.

Max carries an MP-5 in both hands, firing at an OPTICAL BLUR * running across the chamber. •vincenzo is also firing, filling * the chamber with the deafening SOUND of GUNFIRE.

The Pyramid has started to reconfigure once more. Thick stone slabs slide outfrom the wall, sub-dividing the chamber and splitting the human team into three separate groups. Each trapped in their own newly created stone cell:

-Max, Weyland, Sebastian and Lex.

- Vincenzo and Miller.

- One lone survivor,Connors.

Connors staresup at the walls. For the moment he is safe * from the Predators,but there is no escape from this room. He's on hisown and terrified. He pounds against the walls, * screaming at the top of his voice.

Weyland and Max get to their feet as a STONE SLAB slides into * the roof, revealing a brand new exit from the cell. The labyrinth awaits.

constantly looking behind his shoulder, misses it,and falls

twenty feet through the duct in the floor.

Hang on. I'll try and figurea way

to get down to you. *

Vincenzo settles in for a wait. As he does, he moves his

hand back into a pile of skinfrom an Alien chest burster.

Vincenzo is startled as he feels the shredded skin and the

slime from the blood, but hecan not move quickly because he

twisted his ankle from the fall.

In a distance down the duct,Vincenzo sees A SHADOW OF AN

ALIEN. Keeping his eye on it,he backs up and crouches

himself into a corner,which he thinks is safe. Vincenzo

turns only to see a SECOND ALIEN waiting right thereon top

of him. *

A moment later, Miller hearsVincenzo's horrifying screams.

He knows his friend is dead. *

Lex, Sebastian, Weyland, and Max make theirway through the

dark underground maze. Max is aheadon point with his MP-5

machine gun. *

WEYLAND

Can you get us out of here? *

Lex checks her digital compass. *

DA. INT. PYRAMID- FIGHT CHAMBER 90A.

Up ahead Max signals the group to halt. He beams his * flashlight into the obscurity just as aPREDATOR emerges from * the darkness. Max begins firing. But the Predator also * shoots. MATERIALIZING in mid-air beforeMax is a STEEL NET. * It knocks Max off his feet and envelops him. *

MAX

Aaaaaah!

The net is pulling even tighter around him. The steel mesh * cuts into Max's clothing and equipment. Slicing through * metal like it were paper.

Weyland struggles with the·net,but lacerates his own hands. * The mesh is razor-sharp. Sebastian tries to cut at the net with a knife, but the blade just snaps against the strength of the Predator steel. *

A SECOND CLOAKED PREDATOR appearing suddenly behind Sebastian * and Weyland. They react, but Max's warningcame too late. Lex and Weyland are sent crashing to the floor. The Predator * grabs Sebastian by the throat and lifts him off the ground. Choking the life out of him. With his other hand,the Predator raises a SPEAR high above Max,ready to finish him off.

Lex reaches for her ice axe that is wrapped around her belt * but the First Predator is too fast. He BACKHANDS Lex, * sending her flying through the air. Lex lands hard. Th~ wind knocked out of her. She tries to struggle to her feet, but within seconds the Predator is on her again. A savage kick sends Lex back to the grou~d.

Max is held fast in the ever tightening net. He shares a * look with Weyland,only feet away from him, winded and helpless on the ground.

It's the last wordsMax hears, as the Predator drives his SPEAR clear through the net. The force is so great, the spearembeds itself in the rock floor beneath Max.

Lex witnesses Max's death. Sebastian looks to be next in * line. He's helpless.Being choked to death by the Second * Predator. Just moments from losing consciousness. *

But there'snothing Lex can do. For she too is about to die.

CLOSE UP:On the twin blades sliding from the First * Predator's wrist. Even in cloaked mode, the razor sharp edges seem to catch the light. The Predator brings the twin blades up above Lex's head. She is just seconds from being decapitated. Lex tenses, ready for the blow. But it never * comes. Instead,the Predator CONVULSES. Its cloaking device * begins to spark,and the Predator starts to become visible. The sparking spreads outfrom the Predator's chest as he is LIFTED INTOTHE AIR!

Blood dripsonto the face of Lex. Green, luminescent Predator blood. As the creature hanging above her slowly becomes visible,Lex sees that something has IMPALED the Predator. A WICKED BARBED TAIL sticks straight through the Predator's chest.

Slowly, anALIEN unfolds from its- hiding place in the ceiling. It has stabbed the Pr~dator,the sharp point of its TAIL going clean through the Predator'sarmored chest.

And now the second predator registers the Alien. He tosses * Sebastian to one side,no longer interested. He has set his sights on BIG GAME. As if to mirror the actionsof the Second Predator, the Alien tosses aside the deadPredator hanging from its tail.

As Sebastian and Lex crawl away,the Predator UNCLOAKS and the two fearsome ALIEN WARRIORSface off. There is a long moment of tense anticipation, and then the two Creatures CHARGE! For the first time ever we witness:

A PREDATOR AND AN ALIENGO HEAD TO HEAD!

The two beasts meet with a mig~ty IMPACT. The Alien's tail stabs at the Predator. He deflects it with histwin wrist blades, and they SLICE clean through the tail. The Alien HOWLS in pain. The Predator tries to stab the Alien, but the twin blades have been reduced to smoldering stumpsby the Alien's acid blood.

Lex helps Weyland to his feet. Lex and Sebastian pick up * Weyland and carry him between them as they make their escape. * In the background, the two mighty beasts grapple, rolling end over end. The twin mouths of the Alien snap at the Predator's faceplate. He holds the Alien off,the teeth of the inner mouth barely inches away from his eyes. The Predator FLINGS the Alien off. Gaininga moment's grace. The Alien is clearly stronger than he had ever imagined.

THE ALIEN charges again. *

THE PREDATOR FIRES A STEEL NET that arcs through the airand * envelops the Alien. Bringing it crashing to the ground. The net pulls tight, cutting through the Alien's armored hide.

THEPREDATOR ROARS in triumph. But as the net cuts through * theAlien, the Alien begins to bleed. And as the Alien bleeds,the net begins to smoke. The Alien's acid blood is eating through the steelmesh.

SUDDENLYTHE.ALIEN BREAKS FREE! Its whole body smoking from * where the net had cut into it. The Predator is caught off guard, and the Alienis on him in an instant.

CLOSE ON THEPREDATOR'S FACEPLATE as the Alien holds it * tightly between itsclaws. The Predator is literally FACETO FACE with the Alien. We see the Alien reflected in the mirrored eye sockets of the Predator faceplate.

THE PREDATOR watches helpless, as the Alien's inner mouth is

slowly r~vealedand then -- the inner mouth punches clean through the Predator's faceplate. The stone corridor is sprayed with brain matterand luminous green blood. FIRST

the stairs to fight the Predator.

WEYLAND (CONT'D)

Go!

Lex and Sebastian see the Predator at thebottom of the

stairs. Lex looks at Weyland.His look conveys the sacrifice

he's about to make.

WEYLAND (CONT' D)

Run! *

Sebastian pulls Lex away. she exchanges one last look with

Weyland as they run up the stairs.

Below: Human and Predator face off. Weyland draws himself

up to his full height. He's going out with a fight. Weyland

swings at Scar. Scar catches the ice axeand crumples it in * his fist. PREDATOR VISION: Scar seesWeyland in his

distinctive heat signature vision. Like an MRI, the Predator

vision scans over Weyland's wrecked body,a body riddled with

disease. Like stars in the sky,the tumors are everywhere.

The cancer has destroyed Weyland.

Scar turns away from Weyland and walksup the stairs. To * Scar, he's nothing but a sick animal. Weyland is not worthy * of the hunt. *

But Scar pays no heed. Weyland sees that Scar is heading up

the stairs after Lex and Sebastian. He feverishly reaches

Weyland opens the valve to the oxygen bottle and lights the * flare. The gas immediately ignites and the resulting jet of * flame engulfs the Predator.The Predator SCREAMS. *

Still burning, Scar turns back to Weylandand kills him with * his spear. Weyland dies a hero's death. The Predator ROARS * in triumph. *

Lex and Sebastian exit the labyrinth. They hear the

Predator's victory cry. Lex stops.

LEX

Weyland!

SEBASTIAN

You can't help him.

He drags her away.

SEBASTIAN (CONT'D)

We have to go.

They race into a long corridor filled with roughhewn stone PILLARS and GIGANTIC CHAINS. The chamberis vast, but the pillars make it hard to see too far ahead. Anytqing could be hiding in here.

Lex looks at her digital wrist compass. *

LEX

We keep moving and stay on the heading. We keep it together. Make * it to the surface.

PREDATOR VISION: Watching the humans move between the * pillars. But Sebastian and the other humans are not what the

The humans race between the pillars as thetwo creatures fight in vicious hand to hand combat. The Predator has the one armed Alien down on the ground.

Sebastian helps Lex through the doorway..Sebastian ROLLS * beneath the stone slab seconds before it seals completely. He just missed being crushed. *

Lex picks herself up from the floor. The wallsand ceiling of * this chamber are covered in hieroglyphics. This is an ancient library of some kind. They are trapped here. Both * ends of the chamber are sealed off by heavy slabs of rock * that are impossible to move. *

LEX * That thing was using us as bait!

A dozen small peepholes have been cut in one of the walls. They afford a GLIMPSE into the Chamber of Pillar from which * they have just escaped. Lex joins Sebastian at one of the peepholes. *

LEX/SEBASTIANPOV: The Predator stands over the dead Alien. * Usinga CEREMONIAL KNIFE, the Predator cuts off one of the Alien's fingers. Then the Predator removes his armored visor,revealing his hideous crab-like faqe. Using the severed Alien finger likea crayon, the Predator traces a Predator warrior insignia on the forehead of thearmored * visor. The acid blood leaking from the finger etches the Predator warrior insignia into the metal. Sebastian studies * the Predator. *

The top of the Pyramid. Three Predators ina defensive formation, fighting back-to-back. The CAMERA PULLS BACK to reveal dozens of Aliens, circling and attacking. TIGHT ON MILLER'S EYES as he wakes up. He doesn't know where * he is. In horror, Miller realizes he has been cocooned next * to Vincenzo and Connors. Connors is dead, with his rib cage * already bent outward. Vincenzo is barely alive with a face * hugger attached to him. The tail is tightening around his * throat. Vincenzo's cocooned body is right beside Miller. * Protruding from Vincenzo's cocooned body is his shoulder * holster that contains his pistol. *

Pull back to reveal an egg cracking with aFace Hugger * inside. Miller has just a few seconds. *

Miller reaches forVincenzo's gun but he's virtually frozen * in place,trapped in the cocoon. He struggles, fighting * desperately to get to Vincenzo's gun. The face hugger is * almost out.Miller can't quite reach it. His only chance is * just inchesaway from his f-ingertips. *

Miller sees that the facehugger is almost free. Miller * summons all his strength,fighting to get out. He grabs the * gun just as theALIEN FACE HUGGER LEAPS for him. It's too * late. Miller is dead for sure. One second too late. But * then somehow he getsa shot off at the last possible second * that hits the Alien facehugger squarely. The Alien face * hugger falls to the ground, still twitching. Miller shoots * it three more times killing it. Our favorite nerd is a hero! *

MILLER * Boy Scouts. Pistol shooting merit * badge. Troop twenty-nine. Scout * Master Henderson. *

LEX POV: The Predator with the Predator warrior scar on his * forehead is putting his face plate back on. The face plate i•smarked with a similar Predator warrior insignia. From now * on, this Predator will be known as SCAR. Around his neck hangs the INNER MOUTH of the Alien he slew. He wears it asa. trophy.

SCAR stands calmly facing the doorway to the Hieroglyphics * chamber. He's waiting for the pyramid to reconfigure once more and the s·toneslab blocking the doorway to move.

SEBASTIAN

When we took the guns we upset the

order ofhow things work down here.

We tipped the scales.

LEX

(getting it) * He needs hisgun back.

Sebastian points to the slab that Scar isbehind.

The ALARMon Sebastian's watch GOES OFF. In the distance a * SOUND likeROLLING THUNDER. The pyramid is reconfiguring * once again. Lex ·nodsto the heavy slab blocking the doorway * in front ofthem, the one Scar is behind. But as the pyramid * reconfigures, that'snot the door that opens. The one holding * Scar back is still sealed. *

The door opens up intoa corridor and heading off to the left * are the small strobe lightsthat Lex dropped earlier marking * their path to the surface. Sebastian looks at the strobe * lights stretching out into the distance. *

SEBASTIAN * Those lead back to the surface. *

Sebastian starts to go left,heading toward the strobe lights * and the path out of the pyramid. *

LEX * And that's where we're going.

(a beat) ,

Right after we find this thingand

give him back his gun.

Lex turns right, toward the darknessand the unknown. And * Sebastian follows her. *

Shockingly sudden: Lex sees an Alienmove ahead ofthem,

blocking their way. Lex and Sebastian turn and rundown

another corridor as the horrible shadow of an approaching

Alien can be seen behind them. *

A DEEP CHASM spanning the corridor. It is over fifteen feet * wide. Lex and Sebastian see the chasm. They turn back but * they see theshadow of the Alien. *

LEX * We' regonna have to jump it. *

Lex and Sebastian attempt the impossiblejump at thesame * time but Sebastian's slightly tallerbody is ahead of Lex and * he lands firston the far side. The edge of the ledge * Sebastian lands on begins to give way from the weight of his * impact. *

Lex landsa second later but because of the weakened ledge, * the·edge Lex landson gives way. Lex almost makes it. * Almost. She hits the wall on the far side of the chasm. The * impact smashes her ribs she grimaces in pain. But she * managesto hang onto the ledge above her. *

SEBASTIAN

Hang on!

Sebastian reachesdown and grabs Lex with his right hand,

Around her, looming shadows are everywhere. She's hopelessly * lost.

Lex makes a wrong turn and finds herselfin a dead end * corridor. She turns around and stops in her tracks.

Standing at the other end of the corridor,blocking her escape, is Scar. He holdsa short metal tube in one hand. * Suddenly both ends of thetube TELESCOPE out to form the Predator SPEAR.

LEX faces off with him, ref using toshow fear. It's a brave * effort but an unsuccessful one.She's terrified.

SCAR'S PREDATOR VISION: Lex outlined in distinctive heat * signature. ZOOM IN on her backpack, to reveal the outline of a PREDATOR GUN within. This is what Scar wants. *

Slowly Lex takes off her backpack. She slides the gun across * the floor. Scar picks it up and then something suddenly

An ALIEN, just about to strike. Scarsenses the movement just intime but he hasn't had enough time to mount hisgun. * He turns and brings his spear up in defense. The Alien has * the upper hand however, ~nd SLAMS Scar to the ground.

Lex gets her hands on the Predator spear just as the Alien * rights itself. Without hesitation the Alien leaps at the nearest prey, Lex. *

LEX AND THE FIRST ALIEN. A Frozen Tableau, rendered in * EXTREME SLOW MOTION. The Alien caught mid-flight, leaping through the air toward Lex. Lex bringing up the Predator spear in defense. It's an epic moment. Suddenly, theimage returns to NORMAL TIME, and the Alien completes its flight with terrifying speed. The force and impact of the Alienis its undoinghowever, for it IMPALES itself on the spear. *

Lex struggles to keep hold of the spear. She leans back, * hoisting theimpaled Alien into the air. ~he Alien refuses to die,however. Its own body weight is causing it to slide down the spear towardLex! Every second, the snapping jaws of the creature drop closer to Lex's exposed face. *

THEALIEN impaled on the spear finally dies. His jaws barely * an inch from Lex'sface. *

CLOSE ON LEX'SFOREHEAD as the three red dots of the laser * sighting system appear onher face. She looks up to see Scar * pointing thegun straight at her. There is a tense moment * between the Humanand the Predator. Then the three red dots * slowly move off her face to the real target,behind her. *

PREDATOR POV: Behind Lex are four Aliens,led by Grid, * closing in for the kill. She's mesmerized by the Aliens. * They seem to flow over the ceiling,the-walls, the floor. * Scar shoots an Alien, vaporizing it. They scatter as they * see Scar shooting his gun with complete precision and * accuracy. The Aliens have retreated fornow. The room is * empty. *

Scar wastes no time. He takes hisSACRIFICIAL DAGGER and * begins to cut up the body of the dead Alien. Prising the * armored hide away from its internal organs. Scar works with speed and precision. Lex is both intrigued and repelled.

Scar pulls the armored head plate of the Alienaway from the rest of its body. He lays it carefully to one side. It is now completely hollow, like an empty shell. Lex can see that the long twisted BRAIN of the Alien is still PULSING and TWITCHING. Even dead like this,the Alien is amazingly menacing. After all, how do you reallyknow when an Alien is dead? Lex leans in for a closer look and --

WHAM!!! A claw snatches at her face.

Lex jumps back terrified. But the Alienmakes no further movement. Maybe it was some kind of reflex action? Lex looks from the Alien to Scar. The Predator holds his dagger o~er the brain of the dead beast. He prodsa lobe of the Alien's brain and the same claw snatches at the air. He scared her deliberately. A Predator joke. Lex manages a half smile -- more spooked than funny -- that's •.. great. * Scar returns to his work. *

Lex puts a hand on Scar's arm, stopping hiswork. Scar stares up at her. Clearly not used to being touched. A tense moment. For a second, it looks like the Predatormay tear Lex in half,but then he grabs Lex's spear. Scar dips * the tip of his sacrificial blade in thebody of the Alien. Then, holding the blade above the handle of her spear,he * lets a drop of Alien blood fall. The acid blood immediately begins to eat itsway through the handle of the spear. *

Next, Scar holds the bladeabove the long piece of Alien hide that he has just torn from the dead creature'sbody. Scar lets a drop of Alien blood fall. The acid blood rolls harmlessly off the Alien hide, like it were just a drop of water. The acid doesn't react with the Alien's own armor.

Scar looks up at Lex,as if to say - "Get it?" Lex nods. *

ANGLE ON:Grid and the Aliens are watching from the shadows. * Laying in wait. Slowly we move into Scar's shoulder gun. * It's the only thing keeping Lexand Scar from being ripped * apart: For now. *

CLOSE ON GRID as the leader of the Alien pack suddenly turns. He has heard his mother's cry.

Scar then takes Lex's knife and jabs at the dead Alien's body

as Lex starts to process everything. She's almost on auto-

pilot. She can't believe what she's saying.

LEX.

(softly) * You need my help.

He looks at her strangely. And then walks away. *

LEX (.CONT'D)

Hey. Hey! *

She runsup to him. She grabs him. He turns sharply. *

Scar looks at her -- ready to kill her. And Lex does· the

most surprising thing. She simply opens her hand. scar * looks at this young warrior, wanting to fight,her hand * outstretched and open. And Scar places the knife in Lex's * hand. *

MUSIC is pounding as Lexand Scar stand side-by-side. Ready * for battle! Two warriors,both wear the armored plates cut from the Alien for protection. Lex carries a shield fashioned from the head of theAlien. Scar carries his Predator spear and plasmagun and Lex holds the coolest knife * you've ever seen -- madefrom the razor sharp barbs of an * Alien's tail. *

Together, Lex and Scar make afearsome sight. *

LEX * Let's go get them. *

Scar looks at Lex and the two warriorsbegin the hunt. *

Predator and Human run side by side. Scar is clearly

starting to accept Lex as something ofan equal. Lex slows

and then halts. Something on theground catches Lex's eyes.

It's Miller's camera and it's laying on the ground...covered

in blood. Lex kneels to pick the camera up. She holds it in * her hands, slowly wiping the blood away. Lex flips through a

few of the digital photos that Miller has takenon this trip.

The last photo Lex stares at is the one that heshowed her on

the helicopter in: Miller standing arm and arm with histwo

sons.

LEX

Miller! *

But there is no reply. *

Lex stands and stares into the darkness. She shines her * flashlight, piercing the darkness to find in horror theTHREE * COCOONS that hold the dead bodies of Miller,Vincenzo and * Connors. What's left of their rib cages are already bent * outward. The Chest Bursters long gone. Vincenzo's, Miller's * and Connors' faces are all frozen ina grotesque rictus. Lex * mourns and kneels down by their bodies and finds Miller's * handgun. She studies the gun as she hears something. *

It's very faint. A ghostly ECHO. At first, she can't make * it out. But then, to her horror, Lex realizes what it is -- * Her name. Repeated over and over. *

clear. What Lex thoughtwas a statue is alive. And what she * thought was a beast, is a man -- Sebastian. The Alien had

not killed him, but instead,encased him in some kind of

Sebastian is held tight in the cocoon. In front of him an * EMPTY Alien Egg. He's clearly ina lot of pain. *

Scar watches her closely. From his reaction, he appears to * respect her more and more with every decision she makes. *

SCAR'S PREDATOR VISION: We see Sebastian's dead body slumped * on the floor. His body begins to convulse. Sebastian's skin * begins to distend. *

THE ALIEN CHEST BURSTER leaps through the air. With * lightening-fast reflexes,Scar catches it.

CLOSE ON SCAR as he holds thenewly born Alien up to his * face. He turns it in his hand,examining it. *

CLOSE ON THE ALIEN. Its teeth snapping at Scar's face. * Unbelievably vicious. Then in one simple move,Sca·rcasually * SNAPS its neck between his fingers. Just like it were a * matchstick. *

The Alien Queen hangs from her chains,a prisoner. Slowly, * dark figures emerge from the shadows of the chamber. .Aliens .* Her children. Led by Grid. They almost seem to bow in * supplic.ation to the Alien Queen.Then, as a group, they LEAP * upon their mother. Their claws and mouthsTEARING at her * flesh in a frenzied attack. The Alien Queen begins to bleed. * Her hissing, burning blood flying everywhere. Her acid blood * begins to eat through the chains. And only now do we realize * what the Aliens are doing -- *

Scar makes a tight fist with the hand that the wrist computer * is on. Then he uses the opposite hand to point to the wrist * computer. *

Lex is doing her best just to keep up. Scar stops at an * intersection. He seems uncertain fora moment, then he heads to the RIGHT.

LEX * No!

Lex has stopped at the intersection. She isn't following. *

She heads to the LEFT. Stepping overone of the STROBE * LIGHTS she left earlier -- her path back to the surface.

After a moment, Scar follows the Human.

Lex looks back. There isno sign of Aliens behind them. They * are safe for now. She finds herself face to face with Quinn. *

she almost screams in surprise. Quinn's body is frozen .solid * at the foot of the ice tunnel. *

Shaking off the surprise,Lex sees that one o_fthe large equipment cases is still fastened to the automated winch and pulley system. Lex rips the top of the case off and flings it away. The empty case now resemblesa SLED. Lex grabs the control box for the automatedwinch. She shouts to Scar.

But as Scar turns, an Alien claw cuts into his shoulder

smashing his plasma gun! AN ALIENHAS MATERIALIZED OUT OF NO * WHERE. THE ALIEN is hunched over Scar's back. A blur of

teeth and claws. Lex sees the PITONGUN on the sled and

grabs it and shoves it into the Alien's mouth.

LEX (CONT'D)

Wrong girl.

She pulls the trigger and blows the back of his headoff~

A second Alien, "Grid" appears and rushes the sled. Grid

smashes the piton gun. Scar reaches for his throwing disc

and drives it into Grid's crown,wounding him badly. Acid

blood pours from Grid's wounds, splashing Scar and burning

through Scar'sar~or. Scar's wounds are brutal but not

deadly.

Grid and Scar are locked in deadly combat. Grid is clawing * at Scar,with blow after pounding blow. Scar throws Grid * back against the wall of ice. *

Lex grabs Scarand they tumble back into the sled together. *

2,000 feet above,the digital readout on the automated winch suddenly changes to --EMERGENCY RELEASE ACTIVATED. The digital counter reads3 •.• 2 ... l. And then the COUNTERWEIGHT is released.

Even with the weight of Scar and Lex,the sled is still much lighter than when loaded with equipment. The result -- instead ofa slow, steady rise to the surface, the sled takes off like an Express Elevator out of Hell. Literally snatching Scarand Lex from the clutches of the Aliens.

The speed with which they ascend is incredible.The breath is knocked out of them. Lex can barely speak --

The sled leaps from the tunnel. Smashing into the winch rig with aMASSIVE IMPACT. Scar and Lex are thrown clear.

Lex lands HARD in thesnow. The katabatic storm rages around * her prone figure,but Lex is oblivious. She has been knocked unconsciousby the impact.

scar is already back on his feet. Oblivious to the open * wound in his shoulder. He strides back to the mouth of the tunnel and looks within.

Far below, the AlienQueen is ascending the tunnel-. Razor sharp claws cutting into the ice, giving her purchase. And clambering over her,even riding on top of her, are the rest of her children and leading the hungry pack of ravenous * aliens is GRID. Scar has escaped him twice. The Alien isn't * going to give him a third chance. *

It's a terrifying, almost medievalimage. Like a pack of demons rising out of Hell. *

SCAR has the higher ground. He looks at his wristcomputer * and activates the countdown. Then heremoves the

computer/bomb from his wrist. He takes one last look at the

CLOSE ON THE WRIST COMPUTER sliding down the icywalls of the * tunnel toward the Aliens. The numbers counting down, faster and faster.

Lex slowly recovers. Scar hoists her to her feet and begins * to run with her through the storm. He's almost carrying her.

CLOSE ON THE WRIST COMPUTER as it slides PAST Grid,the Alien * Children and toward the Alien Queen. The countdown is almost * done.

Lex and Scar, running through the whaling station.

Behind them, Grid appears at the mouth of the tunnel. *

CLOSE ON GRID. He is the first Alien to reach the surface. * He HOWLS for Scar's blood. This has beena personal grudge * match between the two of them. He is about to leapforward * when suddenly

THE PREDATOR BOMB EXPLODES.

The force of the explosion rockets up the tunnel,spreading * like an ever expanding mushrooming cloud of fire and blowing * Grid and the Alien children into pieces. *

The massive underground explosion throws Lex to her knees.

A GIANT SHOCKWAVE shudders through the snow, AND THEN THE * GROUND BEGINS TO GIVE WAY! The entire ice cave and Pyramid beneaththem has started to collapse.

The mouth of the tunnel and everything around itis sucked down into the bowels of the Earth. The drilling rigs, the base camp, all swallowed from view.

But the collapse is spreading outward, like ripples ina pond. It is starting to consume the whaling station. Building after building issucked into the abyss. Scar forces Lex to her knees as thesnow and ice around them starts to CRACK and give way. No matter how fast they run howeyer, the cracks are already spreading ahead ofthem.

Then the very ground beneath their feet begins to give way.

Scar and Lex make one last desperateJUMP as the earth literally DISAPPEARS beneaththem.

128. EX'l'.RAZORBACKPOINT- HARBOR (MOMENTSLATER) 128.

CLOSE ON LEX -- lying in the snow,looking up at the sky. Above her towers the Separator -- the giant vat for boiling whale blubber that she and Sebastianonce discussed.

LEX rolls over to see -- She and Scar are lying on the very * edge of a GIANT CRATER. Half the whaling station is gone. All that remains are smashed timbers,the iced-over harbor and the separator. It is the only piece of structure left standing intact. Lex struggles to her knees. It's hard to see the full expanse of the crater through the katabatic storm, but it's vast. Far below lie the wrecked timbers of the whaling station. Scar stands beside Lex. He too has survived.

The SNOW around them HISSES and meltswhere chunks o.fAlien carcass have landed. One of these chunks looks familiar. * It's a piece of Grid's head-~ his signature pattern clearly * visible. Scar leans down and picks something up. He carries * it over to Lex. She is still dazed, and it takesa moment for her to reali2e what is happening. Scar holdsan Alien finger, still dripping acid blood, right. in front of her face. Lex tenses in pain, but makes no sound,as the Predator begins to "blood" her. Burning the distinctive Predator warrior scar into Lex's forehead with the acid blood * of a dead Alien.

She has earned the mark of a warrior.

THE CAMERA begins to PULL BACK and the MUSIC SWELLS. We are left with the classicimage of two tiny figures in a vast landscape. The last survivors.

SUDDENLYBEHIND THEM, THE ALIEN QUEEN BURSTS FROM THE SNOW!

None of her brood have survived, but the mother lives,and she's out for blood.

THE ALIEN QUEEN'S TAIL whipsaround, smashing into Scar, * flinging him into the remnant of the whaling station. Scar survives the impact and falls to theground, as we see chunks of smashed concrete flying in the air.

THE ALIEN QUEEN closes in onScar to finish him off but then * piasma shells fire past her,blowing chunks off the Alien Queen's crown. PULLBACK to reveal •.•LEX FIRING!

THE ALIEN QUEEN turns to face her. Lex has to duck to avoid * a CHAIN as it whips above her head. Many of the restraints that had held the Alien Queen prisoner are still attached to her body. And as she moves her limbs, these chains flail around her like giant steelWHIPS!

Lex lines up to shoot again. But this timeone of the chains * catches her plasma gun, sending it flying into a bank ofdeep snow by the separator.

LEX recovers quickly, desperate and cold.She runs toward the * snow bank to try and get the gun back.Behind her emerging from the fury of the storm is the Alien Queen chasing after her at top speed.

LEX desperately digs into the snow bank ina futile search * for her gun. Lex is helpless. A sitting duck for the Alien Queen.

THE ALIEN QUEEN is about to impale Lex whenshe rolls * underneath THE SEPARATOR. It sits six feet off the ground * and it is a complex we? of metal wood support.

THE ALIEN QUEEN starts smashing through them using her claws * and tail.

LEX is narrowly avoiding the tail s~ashingin and out of the * separator. The Alien Queen smashes another supportbeam causing THE SEPARATOR to drop three feet instantly,nearly * crushing Lex.

Lex finds a moment and escapes from underneath the separator. * She runs toward the Whaling ·station.

LEX runs into the dilapidated whaling station and hides in between two walls where the insulation sits. Sheis cold and the insulation helps keep herwarm.

The space is very narrow, very long and very claustrophobic. She has just a moment to catch her breath when .••

THE ALIEN QUEEN'S TAIL smashes through the wall next to Lex's * head, almost impaling her.

THE ALIEN QUEEN moves her head into one of the holes she * smashed looking for Lex. *

LEX scrambles out of the walls barely escaping just as the * Alien Queen rips another hole into the wall. She emergesfrom the whaling station. *

Lex findsone of the LONG CHAINS still attached to the queen * and works quickly to get thechain of the Alien Queen around * the separator. She is pushing at the one weakened support that stops the Separator from tumbling into the harbor below. The one weakened leg of the Separator finally gives way.as

THE SEPARATORtumbles down the hill. The chain PULLS TIGHT * andDRAGS the· AlienQueen with it. It hits the pack ice covering the harbor. It cracks the ice, but doesn't break through completely.

THE ALIENQUEEN is dragged to the edge of the harbor, and it * brings her closer toLex but not into the freezing depths below.

A hundred feet below lie thebroken remnants of the whaling station -now transformed into a forest of sharp wooden stakes thrusting up into the air. To fall on these would be instant death.

ON THE SEPARATOR asa spiderweb of cracksspread out through * the pack ice. The ice is weakening,breaking up, but not fast enough.

THE ALIEN QUEEN'S CLAWS slash past,they rake through Lex's * clothing.

The Alien Queen's claws find Lex once again.

The Alien Queen has Lex pinned with one of her long claws. Lex is now immobile, helpless. Just waiting for the killer blow.

132. BXT. RAZORBACK POINT - HARBOR- CONTINUOUS 132.

The Alien Queen leansdown. Her face hovering inchesfrom Lex's. Her jaws open, revealing the inner mouth. Ready to strike. Lex closes her eyes.

CLOSEON A PREDATOR DISC as it arcs through the storm and * impacts with the Alien Queen. The Alien Queen HOWLS in pain! The disc hasembedded itself in an open wound --where the * explosion had torna hole in her armor. The Alien Queen * thrashes around in pain,attempting to dislodge the Predator throwing disc. Eventually she succeeds, and the furious Alien Queen turns to face the culprit. Scar stands ina Samurai pose. Ready for battle. With one hand, he motions for the AlienQueen to begin.

SCAR AND THEALIEN QUEEN FACE OFF. There's something medieval * ·about the image. An armored knight facing off against some mythic dragon.While around them, an apocalyptic storm rages.

THE ALIENQUEEN AND SCAR CIRCLE. The Alien Queen stabbing * with her tail,Scar parrying with his spear. Scar cuts through the Alien's defenses,and drives his spear deep into her side. For a moment there is a feeling of triumph. But it is short lived. The Alien Queen STABS Scar with her TAIL, IMPALING him and liftinghim clear off the ground. The Alien Queen studieshim for a moment, then with a violent flick, she sends Scar flying. He's badly injured.

THE ALIENQUEEN advances on the prone Scar, closing in for * the kill. He tries to stand, but he's never going to make it.

LEX appears at the Predator's side. The spear fashioned from

an Alien tail firmly in herhands. For a glorious moment she and Scar fight side-by-side.

Human and Predator united against the ultimate Alien threat.

Their actions are heroic,but futile. They cannot defeat THE * ALIEN QUEEN as she begins toTEAR THEM APART. It's only a * matter of time, a very short time,before Lex and Scar are destroyed.

The towering Alien casts a giant shadow across Lex. With * lightning speed she suddenly moves,PIVING UNDER the Alien Queen's CLAWS, she rolls forward, pulls out her knife that she madefrom the Alien's tail, and stabs the Alien Queena few times,causing the acid blood of the Alien Queen to spill out.

THE ALIEN QUEEN attacks with her claws and Lex'sknife is * knockedaway.

Lex now only has the shield she made with Scar to protect her * and it won't protecther for long.

THE ALIEN QUEEN'S acid blood narrowly missesLex and strikes * some concrete on the separator, melting right through it. What it would have done to Lex is unthinkable.Her shield is a battered and bruised mess. She won't be able to keep the Alien Queen back much longer. She rolls out and narrowly escapes.

SCAR flings his Predator Spear high into the air. It's a * seemingly insane move -- giving up his only weapon. But then the spear begins to descend toward the ice. With perfect accuracy, the spear landsWITHIN the deepest of the cracks. The impact is just enough,and with a massive GROANING SOUND the pack ice finally breaksup. But Scar is now defenseless, and the Alien Queen pinshim to the ground with one mighty blow!

THE SEPARATOR slips through the ice and is sucked into the * water below. The chain PULLS TIGHT. Dragging the Alien Queen off the prone body of Scar. The Alien SCREAMS in protest, but there is nothingshe can do. She smashes through the remnants of a buildingand is dragged into the harbor by three tons of solid iron.

ON THE PACK ICE as the Alien Queen is dragged across theice * and through the gaping hole madeby the Separator.

136. UNDERWATER: BENEATH THEPACK ICE - CONTINUOUS 136.

Beneath the ice, everything is silent. Ghostly. The Separator hurtles past the CAMERA, likea giant anchor headed straight to the bottom. It is followedby the length of chain and then the Alien Queen.

THE ALIEN QUEEN is dragged down into the dark. Into the * abyss. Eventually disappearing completelyfrom view.

Scar lies in the snow. A fallen warrior. Bloodied and broken, but dying with honor. Lex cradles his head in her hands.

Scar reaches out and touches Lex's forehead. His movement * are gentle for.such a big creature. He traces the Predator * warrior scar marked into her flesh. *

Then Scar dies.

For a moment, the storm seems to reduce in fury. The sky clears to reveal the PREDATOR SPACECRAFT hovering directly above the remnants of the whaling station. On a low rise overlooking the battleground standa DOZEN PREDATOR ELDERS. They had been watching all along. MULTIPLE SHADOWS, cast seemingly from nowhere,play over Lex and Scar. Then four more PREDATORS become visible. They pick up Scar's body and carry him toward along ramp leading up to the belly of the spacecraft.

Lex faces off against A DOZEN PREDATORS. She's ready for battle. She doesn't care. She'll take them all on. For a moment there isa tense standoff. A PREDATOR ELDER.stares at theHuman Woman. He sees the distinctive Predator warrior * scar on herforehead. The same scar that he and all the others wear. Then he nods in RESPECT. As the rest of the Predators file back onto the Spacecraft,the Predator Elder hands Lex hisSPEAR. The gesture has the feeling of ancient ceremony about it. The message is clear· --

LEX IS NOWA HUNTER. *

Lex takes the spear. And the Predator Elder turns back to the Spaceship. As he turns, he shimmers and becomes invisible.The MAINTHRUSTERS of the Predator Craft are starting to fire up. Intensifying the snowstorm beneath the ship.

Lex is covered in blood and bruises,holding the warrior's * spear and marked with the Predator warrior scar,Lex has * never looked more formidable. She seems more Predator than Human. She watches the Spacecraft as it rises into the heavens, becoming lost in the storm in a matter of moments. Lex takes something from her pocket. It's Sebastian's bottle cap. She turns it over in her hand,the emotion of the moment clear.

Lex looks up to the heavens. A break in the storm reveals a giant FULL MOON hanging in thesky.

The moon she had been looking at just the other night with Sebastian. She closes her hand around the bottle cap and looks up to the skies.

The Predator Spacecraft glides past our Moon,headed away from Earth, into deep space.

Scar's dead body has been laid to resti~ a place of honor. * Scar's faceplate is off,displaying the Predator warrior * scar. He died a warrior's death.

The air is heavywith incense and some kind of religious ceremony has just finished. The last of the PREDATOR ELDERS is filing out of theroom, returning to the cryo-stasis tubes, ready for the journey back into deep space. Scar's body is left alone in the silent chamber.

Scar's chest begins to CONVULSE! Tearing its way out of * Scar's dead body is anALIEN CHEST BURSTER!

The Alien that develops inside a Predator is biggerand tougher than we could ever have imagined. A HYBRID between ALIEN and PREDATOR, more fierce than anything we have seen before. And now it is loose on the unsuspecting Predator ship!
